Free Starbucks Coffee Grounds (for your garden)
Green-fingered folks, here's a lovely ongoing freebie from Starbucks. Their "Grounds for Your Garden" programme lets you pop into any participating Starbucks store and pick up a bag of used coffee grounds completely free. The baristas scoop them into empty espresso bean bags, so even the packaging is reused.
Used coffee grounds are brilliant for enriching soil, speeding up your compost heap and giving plants a natural nitrogen boost; great for everything from tomatoes to flowers.
You'll usually find bags by the checkout, or just ask your barista. It's worth calling your local store ahead of your visit to check they're taking part and have some ready.
