The beauty industry in the UK is a big deal, worth over £17m and set to increase even further this year.
While it may be great for the economy, it's no so good for our pockets - the average British woman spends a whopping £100,000 on cosmetics in her lifetime.
Face products occupy a large proportion of this total, with the average annual spend sitting at, £279.41 - that's £18k over their adult life.
The top attribute women aspire to have is a healthy complexion, with almost a quarter (24 per cent) citing dry and cracked skin as one of their biggest concerns, alongside oily complexion (22 per cent) and acne (15 per cent) - explaining why foundation is the second biggest expense.
With a top-end foundation from a designer brand setting us back up to £30 (or more), it's important we get it right first time. While colour-matching is done in store, artificial lighting, professional application and pushy sales assistants can often mean we end up with the wrong product.
Wouldn't it be great if we could take home generous samples of top foundations to try for several days? No more wasting money on products that aren't suitable for our unique skin type?
Good news: Magic Freebies have got a month's supply of four, highly-rated foundation samples from high-end beauty brands you can collect from a counter and try at home today.
I trialled them myself to see if I could finally find my perfect match, once and for all. Here's what I tested:
Free Clinique Superblanced ™ Silk Makeup SPF 15 10-day sample
Clinique's new, highly rated foundation is a great one to try if you're looking for sheer to moderate coverage and a 'naked' feel.
It's oil-free with a natural-matte finish, making it ideal for dry combination to oily skin types.
The unique formula adds moisture and subtracts oil where needed, so it's comfortable all day long. The SPF protection is an added bonus, helping to keep your skin looking as good as without foundation, as with.
Even with all the benefits, a bottle of Clinique Superblanced ™ Silk Makeup SPF 15 will set you back £23, so it's important it offers the right balance for your skin - not to mention the right colour.
I got my FREE 10 DAY SAMPLE by following the instructions on the Magic Freebies.
This was the first foundation I tried, and at first, I was really impressed. The counter assistant in store matched my skin colour up really well, and even applied some blusher and lipstick. I walked out of Boots feeling like a supermodel, convinced I'd already found my perfect product.
However as time went on and I tried to replicated the initial look at home, I found I started to really go off the formula. It seemed to sit rigidly on my skin, didn't blend well, and looked too 'heavy' for my personal tastes.
Free 10-day sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10
Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10 is a cult foundation product, voted NO.1 in the UK.

I got my hands on a FREE 10 DAY SAMPLE to try in various lights by following the instructions on Magic Freebies.
The Estée Lauder counter assistant in House of Fraser was so helpful, giving me lots of information about the foundation and it's supposed benefits. She used the Eye Match Tool gadget to find the perfect colour for me and tested a small sample near my neckline.
I wasn't that sold on the product initially, as I tend to go for something lighter and was put-off by Double Wear's supposed 24 hour lasting powers. As the product wasn't applied to my entire face in store either, I was yet to see just what it was made of.
When I trialed it at home, it definitely grew on me. Although I did find it a little heavy, the colour match was so good that it looked natural. I was also really impressed with the buildability of the formula.
Free Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation 7-Day sample
Voted The Hydrating Cover of 2016 by GLAMOUR Magazine, Smashbox Studio Skin foundation is definitely one to try.
Formulated without parabens, oil or fragrance, it hydrates without the shine of other foundations.
It's a practical foundation, being sweat-proof and exercise proof, offering 15 hour coverage to take you from day to night.
Is this the foundation for you? I wanted to see if I'd met my perfect match so tried a FREE 7 DAY SAMPLE thanks to Magic Freebies.
Besides the ever-popular Studio Skin Primer, I'd never used a Smashbox product. I was a bit dubious about trialing their foundation, but the counter assistant in Boots reassured me it was a great product - she even threw in a hydrating prima sample too!
Similarly to Estée Lauder, the foundation was only tested on a small section of my face, so it wasn't until I got home that I got to see it all over.
I really like the product - it glided on, wasn't too matt (I prefer a dewy look) and was much lighter than the previous samples I tried. It was my favourite so far - the final foundation was up against top competition!
Free 10-day sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup
Estee Lauder's second free 10-day sample is the Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick - liquid makeup and a pro tool in one.
The lightweight, hydrating formula can be built up to give sheer-to-medium coverage which lasts for at least eight hours.
The attached sponge means application is easy and that makeup can be blended conveniently for flawless results.
Will you love this weightless feel of this formula or require something with a little more coverage?
I thought it sounded great, so tried a FREE, 10-DAY SAMPLE of this new, innovative foundation by follow the instructions on Magic Freebies.
As I'd already tried an Estée Lauder foundation, the colour was the same as before, and again tested on my neckline for a match.
When I tried the product myself at home, I fell in love almost instantly. I love a light, dewy, natural look, and the Double Wear Nude gave me the glow I was after. With buildable coverage and long staying power, it was as pretty and transluscent as my beloved bb cream, but gave enough coverage to rival some of the previous foundations I'd tested.
Thanks to my 10-day sample, I could rest-assured that I'd finally found my perfect match.
