Located in the heart of the city centre, the 10 acres of York Museum Gardens are a must for anyone visiting York. Nature lovers will love the fantastic collection of trees, plants, shrubs, flowers and wildlife, set against a beautiful backdrop of St. Mary's Abbey.

York Museum Gardens is home to over 40 species of bird, so is the perfect place to go if you're a keen birdwatcher. You can also pay a visit to Yorkshire's oldest working observatory, admire the botanical gardens or simply take advantage of the vast green space of the gardens.

The gardens are currently open from 7.30 am - 8.00 pm, but it's worth checking ahead to see the opening times just in case.
