The Tolkien Trail | Moseley Bog, Birmingham
If you're looking for something a bit different to do in Birmingham, then why not follow the Tolkien Trail through the Moseley Bog.
Discover the magic of this gorgeous nature reserve, where Tolkien used to play as a child. He'd also visit Sarehole Mill which you can visit for just £6 per adult and £3 per child - but entry to the gardens are completely free!
Moseley Bog is home to an ancient forest as well as two Bronze Age mounds, and so it's easy to see how Tolkien fell in love with the place and used it as inspiration for the ancient forests in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
If you're a die-hard fan, you can enjoy going on a scavenger hunt to find all the Eye of Sauron carvings in felled trees by fellow fans following the trail.
