It's estimated that the British Library is home to 150 - 200 million items from all corners of the globe, including 14 million books, 920,000 journal and newspaper titles, 58 million patents, 3 million sound recordings and much more.

Entrance to The British Library is free and is worth a trip purely to see the intricate design and many artefacts on show. The opening times are:
- Monday – Thursday: 09.30 – 20.00
- Friday: 09.30 – 18.00
- Saturday: 09.30 – 17.00
- Sunday: 11.00 – 17.00
