Pontypool Museum is situated in a rather modest stable block, accessed from a charming, cobbled courtyard. It's contents, however, and far from modest. Boasting an impressive 15,000 items inside, there's lots to discover in this wonderful venue.
The Story of Torfaen explores the history of the surrounding county. There are also many seasonal events on offer, covering the arts, an extensive library which features local content and a world famous collection of Pontypool Japanware.
If you get tired whilst looking around, the museum tea room offers light refreshments.
It's rare to see such a variety of historic artifacts in such a pretty setting. Make sure Pontypool Museum is at the top of your places to visit - it makes a great, cheap day out for the whole family!
