Hereford Cathedral | Hereford, Herefordshire

Sitting not too far from the River Wye, is the stunning 11th century Hereford Cathedral. It's completely free to enter, although donations are welcomed to keep it running and free to use.

There's been a place of worship on the site since the 8th century! Inside you can take a look at a 13th century map of the known world, to see how people back then thought the world looks. There's also a chained medieval library, which Queen Elizabeth opened in 1996. It was part of a restoration project that also included the Mappa Mundi and the modern library and archives.

This is a fun, interesting and peaceful place to visit with all the family.
