Free Entry to London Museum Smithfield
London Museum have opened the doors to their brand new home in Smithfield, and general admission is completely free! The new site is a seriously impressive space, giving you the chance to explore thousands of years of London's history — from prehistoric beginnings right through to the present day — across a series of galleries packed with remarkable objects, many of which have never been on public display before.
The museum is open daily, with Sunday to Thursday hours running 10am to 6pm, and late-night openings every Friday and Saturday from 10am to 11pm. Walk-ups are welcome, but pre-booking is strongly recommended — especially during the opening weeks — to guarantee your entry. The museum is located at General Market, West Smithfield, London EC1A 9AG, with Farringdon and Barbican stations both a short walk away. Tickets are available until 31st December 2026.
