Free Bus Travel for Kids This August

Every child aged five to 15 in England will travel FREE on participating local buses throughout August, with unlimited journeys, no registration required, and at no cost to families.

It's part of the Government's Great British Summer Savings Scheme, and it's a brilliant one for parents looking to make the most of the school holidays without the transport costs adding up.

Free bus travel runs from 1st to 31st August and covers participating local bus services across England. The Government estimates this could save a family with two children making a weekly return trip at a £1.50 child fare around £27 over the month.

There's nothing to sign up for and no voucher to grab — just hop on a participating local bus with your children and travel for free. Click our pink button below to head to the full gov.uk announcement and check your local services are covered. England only.
