Free Bus Travel for Kids in August
Great news for families this summer! The government has announced that every child aged 5 to 15 in England will be able to travel FREE on participating local buses throughout the whole of August. There's no registration, no voucher to grab, and no cost to you — kids simply hop on board.
The scheme runs from 1st to 31st August 2026 and covers participating local bus services across England. To put that in perspective, a family with two children making a weekly return trip at a typical £1.50 child fare could save around £27 over the month.
