You need IRON!
Too little iron in your diet may cause hair loss. Your hair follicles and roots are fed by your blood supply and iron is needed to help transfer oxygen around the body. Eat:
- spinach, broccoli, lentils
- red meat, chicken, fish
You need PROTEIN!
Hair is made of protein - make your hair strong and healthy by making you sure you have enough of it. If you don't, your hair my become dry and brittle. Eat:
- legumes, nuts
- chicken turkey, fish, eggs
You need VITAMINS A, C and E!
Vitamin A makes sebum and without this we may have an itchy scalp and dry hair. Vitamin C aids the absorption or iron and also helps producing collagen which strengthens the capillaries which supply the hair shafts. Vitamin E helps with sun damage, which can hurt your hair as well as your skin. Eat:
- broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, nuts
- blackcurrants, blueberries, kiwi fruits, papaya, strawberries, guava
