From the best ever tinted SPF lip balm to one of our favourite hand creams and a fab bunch of new products, Lano offers you the chance to win a bundle of beauty goodies worth nearly £90…

We’ve loved this multi-award winning Aussie range since we met the founder Kirsten Carriol when the brand launched in the UK with victoriahealth.com in 2012.

Actually it was a tea party – proper tiny sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, and a multitude of little cakes – and we did rather lick our lips over those deliciousnesses (not good for dry lips, BTW). But the main lip-related attraction was Lanolips 101 Ointment, creamy goodness in a tube that Kirsten assured us was guaranteed to restore the fragile skin of dry - even very dry and cracked - lips in a trice.

And so it does. And not just lips, as we discovered pretty quickly but any pesky patches of dry skin – hands, cuticles, elbows, heels and the rest – were tamed into softness by the hero ingredient - ultra medical grade lanolin. Plus it’s baby friendly so became a bit of a staple for mums.

As a child, Kirsten was brought up with lanolin, her ‘mad scientist’ father’s go to product for dry lips and skin. Then the bright lights of Sydney and London brought the allure of cosmetic lip products in shiny packaging – from lipsticks and lacquers to glosses and balms. But on a plane heading off on her honeymoon, Kirsten realised that none of these could get near combatting the drying effects of air con. That revelation led to six years of product development, sourcing the purest form of lanolin ever that would give consumers the feel of a beauty product with the results of a medical grade ointment.

Lanolips 101 Ointment took the UK by storm, winning so many awards they couldn't fit on the packaging. And from that one product, Lano expanded into a truly innovative capsule range of hydrating and nourishing beauty musts.

The Tinted Lip Balm with an SPF is still the best we’ve found for summer, now joined by its fruity-flavoured companions, Fruities. Golden Dry Skin Salve with manuka honey and vitamin E is an outright skin saviour, while Rose Hand Cream Intense is simply the best thing to have by your bed, every basin and sink, and in your office drawer… And now there’s Face Base Vitamin E Day Cream; still lanolin-based with nourishing vitamin E, it’s pH-balanced and perfect for sensitive skin.

That’s not all. Gosh! Kirsten has now added two ‘Coconutter’ products – yes that would be coconut oil –Coconutter Hand Cream Intense and Coconutter Body Milk. Somehow, these pull off the tricky task of absorbing very quickly and being so intensely moisturising we can’t quite stop stroking our hands…. Oh, and they just smell like holidays!
