Great news, McDonald's fans.

As part of the government's Covid-19 Eat Out To Help Out scheme, the fast food chain will be slashing the price of its delicious food choices by 50 per cent (max £10 off per person) to encourage more people to support the hospitality sector.

This means you can get McNuggets for as little as £1.60 for a box of six, rather than £3.19. Plus, a share-box filled with 20 McNuggets will only cost you £3, instead of £5.99. Bargain.

The deal also cuts the price of a single Big Mac to £1.60 instead of £3.19, while a medium Big Mac meal with a side and drink will set you back £2.30, rather than £4.59.

Plus, you can grab a Happy Meal for £1.30 instead of £2.59, a McFlurry will only cost 50p instead of 99p and you'll only be charged £1 for a medium Milkshake, instead of £1.99.

Eat Out To Help Out launches on August 3rd until August 31st, and only applies on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Businesses don't have to sign up for the scheme, but many popular chains have, including Nando's, Costa and Pizza Pilgrims.

The offer will only be valid if customers sit in the branch with their meals.

It comes at a perfect time for Maccies, who recently reopened 700 of its restaurants for eat-in diners and announced heightened safety measures to help ensure the move was Covid-19 safe.

Some of these measures include enforced table service, hand sanitiser points and heightened cleaning schedules, as well as a reduced menu to keep staff numbers low, PPE and compliance with social distancing rules.

Customers collecting food, and not eating in, are also now required to wear masks, to keep staff safe.

You can check if your branch is open for eat in via the McDonald's restaurant finder tool.
