This summer the Bridge Theatre transforms for A Midsummer Night's Dream, with seating wrapped around the action, while immersive tickets allow the story to be followed on foot. Be prepared for a dream world of flying fairies, contagious fogs and moonlight revels.

Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Oliver Chris (Green Wing), David Moorst (Allelujah!) and Hammed Animashaun (The Festival) lead the cast as Titania, Oberon, Puck and Bottom. The production also re-unites the team responsible for last year’s smash-hit at The Bridge, Julius Caesar. Direction is by Nicholas Hytner, production design by Bunny Christie, costume by Christina Cunningham, lighting by Bruno Poet and sound by Paul Arditti. Joining the team will be composer Grant Olding, movement director Arlene Phillips, and associate movement director James Cousins.

Founded by Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr on leaving the National Theatre after 12 years, the Bridge Theatre focuses on the commissioning and production of new shows, as well as staging the occasional classic.

The 900-seat adaptable auditorium is designed to answer the needs of contemporary audiences and theatre-makers and is capable of responding to shows with different formats (end-stage, thrust-stage and promenade). It is the first wholly new theatre of scale to be added to London’s commercial theatre sector in 80 years.
