The Kidwelly Industrial Museum is the only museum dedicated to the interpretation of the tinplate industry in general. It also looks at the individual processes involved in making tinplate.
Set in the grounds of a 'ruined' Norman Castle, the Abergavenny Museum tells the story of this historic market town from prehistory through to the present day. There is also an activity room for children where there is a chance to colour, cut and stick.
The cobbled walkway gives a wonderful start to you visit as you head in a central courtyard set in a Georgian Stable Block. There are plenty of local artefacts to discover such as Japanware and collections of 'domestic life' from the Victorian time.
Why explore Llanelli's past in the former Park Howard mansion, a beuatiful historic building set in a delightful civic park. On display are a fantastic collection of Llanelly pottery as well as local paintings.
The Welsh Miners Museum portrays the life of a miner with stories of hardship, struggle, dangerous and dirty work. There are great features such as the traditional miner's cottage scene, historic photographs and outdoor exhibits.
Newport Museum and Art Gallery holds evidence of Newport's history, culture and environment. The Social History collection for example is made up of 20,700 objects which reflect the every day lives of ordinary people in Newport and the surrounding areas for the last 200 years.
The MOMA has grown up alongside a Wesleyan chapel which has been converted into a centre for the performing arts as well as six exhibition spaces in which to view art. Enjoy looking at a contsantly changing exhibition featuring leading artists from Wales. In August selected entries from the Tabernacle Art Competition are shown.
Explore the history of Pendine's 'Sands of Speed' in a dramatic new building overlooking the beach. You can also see their beautifully restored car 'Babs' in the summer.
If you're travelling by car then car parking costs £3. The park has splendid landscapes, arcitecture, history and cultural past set in 1000 acres of gglorius parklands.
The National Waterfont Museum tells the story of industry and innovation in Wales, now and over the last 300 years. At the moment you can view their 'Ghosts in Armour' exhibition, an artistic response to a space, a time, and a declining Welsh steel industry.
