Since all entrance fees to all national galleries and museums have been scrapped, there are plenty of exciting days out to be had by all across the country. If possibly, you should give a donation to help these cheap or free attractions, especially the smaller local history museums if you can.

Ulster Museum

After a 3 year £17million redevelopment project the Ulster Museum has reopened. The Museum has collections devoted to a number of subjects, from Archaeology to Applied Art and from Animal Life to History.
Ulster Folk & Transport Museum

For £20 a family of 2 adults and three children can gain tickets to both Museums on major event days. You can step back in time and uncover history from £100 years ago, discovering town and country side. You can also explore the transport museum, home to one of Europe's best transport collections.
Ulster American Folk Park

Immerse yourself in the story of Irish emigration and experience the adventure from the thatched cottages of Ulster to the log cabins of the American Frontier. For adults it costs £6.00 and for children it costs £3.50.
Armagh County Museum

Why not head to the oldest county museum in Ireland set in Armargh's beautiful Georgian tree lined Mall. You can learn about the people who worked, lived and had connections with this famous city.
Aunt Sandra's, Belfast

If you find yourself in Belfast then book a tour of their little factory and see the products being made by hand. The tours last for one hour and you will find out about how Aunt Sandra's started back in 1950. Tours cost £3.50 for children and £4.50 for adults.
Dunlance Catsle, County Antrim

Dundrum Castle

Dundrum Castle is one of the finest Normal castles in Northern Ireland offering views to the sea and Mourne Mountains. Built in 1177 by John de Courcey it was later occupied by the Magennises.
Scrabo Tower & Country Park, near Newtownards

One of Northern Ireland's best known landmarks overlooks Strangford Lough and the whole of North Down. Here you can see some of the finest views in the country.
Mountsandel Fort, Coleraine

Mountsandel Fort is the setting for the remains of one of the earliest known hunter-gatherer settlements in Ireland, dating from before 7000BC. There are beautiful riverside walks to go on and it is open all year.
Fermanagh County Museum at Enniskillen Castle

Enniskillen Castle is situated by the River Erne in County Fermanagh and built almost 600 years ago by Gaelic Maguires. Adults pay £2.75 and children pay £1.65.
Harry Avery's Castle, Newtownstewart

The design of the castle is unusual in that the two towers look like a gatehouse but in reality it served a similar function to a medieval towerhouse. The structure of the castle is also unusual in that Irish chieftain's of the time rarely built stone castles.
Belfast Cathedral

Amelia Earhart Centre, Ballyarnett Natural Park

Visits to the centre are normally made by appointment, here you can see a cottage exhibition dedicated to Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic solo.
Peatlands Park, Dungannon

Look out for interpretative displays on the natural and human history of the peat bogs. The park is rich in insects and wildlife.
Malone House, Belfast

Malone House gives spectacular views over the beautiful Lagan Valley Regional Park. It is an elegant late Georgian mansion set amongst rolling meadows and parkland.
Antrim Round Tower, County Antrim

The tower was built around the 10th century as a bell-tower for protection from raiders. It is 28 metres tall and is one of the finest of its kind in Ireland.
Dundonald Old Mill

See Ireland's biggest waterwheel standing at 35 feet and a restored 300-year-old sandstone mill. There is also a gift shop, restaurant and a coffee shop where you can find Ireland's famous Banoffee pie.
